About Kostrena

Kostrena is a little picturesque coastal place situated on Rijeka eastern seaside, easily reached by car using Rijeka East Exit(Istok-Draga)on the way to island Krk (Exit Istok-Draga, than Exit Veľica, Trsat and follow sign for Krk) It is well-known for its long tradition of seamanship and courageous seamen, nice beaches, long coastal walks, unspoiled & untouched nature and authentic vegetation, in Kostrena everyone will find something for its own pleasure. You can enjoy in romantic walks, explore historic trails on nearby scenic hill walk called Trim-staza (that is also recreation path) where have been some archeological researches and excavations discovering ruins that may be dating from 4000 years B.C.(remains of stone wall on Solin hill). On the top of the hill are many nice viewpoints from where you can enjoy beautiful sunset over the Kvarner Bay.


















For sport lovers Kostrena offers variety of recreational activities, foothpaths, paths for jogging and cycling, in summer months swimming, sailing and diving. Kostrena is a great base for further tourist exploration and numerous excursions. Crystal clean water, beauty of Adriatic undersea, rich vegetation and smells of Mediterranean, make Kostrena as real little gem of Kvarner, untouched oasis in which everyone finds beach and corner for pleasure in nature. In winter time (January & February) in Rijeka is held carnival festivity that ends with famous international carnival parade in Rijeka centre (last Sunday before Ash Wednesday) with thousands of masked persons and groups and watched by more than 120 000 locals, one reason more to come and stay in Kostrena.
